BE enthralled by the voices of Dolci Voci, as they belt out classics by The Beatles, ABBA and many more artistes at their sole concert this year in aid of children with special needs.
The ‘Bold Red Dolci Voci Charity concert’ will be held in aid of BOLD, a non-profit community based organisation in Penang, dedicated to helping children with intellectual disabilities, developmental delay or disorders and specific learning difficulties.
The renowned troupe of 16 songbirds led by vocalist Tan Sri Dr Sak Cheng Lum has held 17 concerts to raise funds for various charities through the years.
Retired piano teacher and Dolci Voci member Lee Fee Khoon said the group has 18 songs in store for those attending the concert.
“We’ve picked the best of the best for this concert,” said the 68-year-old.
BOLD president Datuk Dr Sharom Ahmat said he was honoured that Dolci Voci chose to dedicate their time to BOLD this year.
“We help over 400 children each year through six intervention programmes. Between 6% and 15% of school-going children suffer from some form of learning disability and we want all of them to have a fair chance and not be segregated,” he told a recent press conference held at the E&O Hotel in Penang.
The concert will also feature the ‘dramatic red’ version of the Steinway Model D concert grand piano, one of only two in the world currently on a world tour, sponsored by Bentley Music.
The event aiming to raise RM200,000, is co-sponsored by Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) and E&O Hotel.
It will be held on Sept 22 at the E&O Hotel Grand Ballroom from 8pm to 10pm.
Tickets are priced at RM500 for VIP seating and RM50 for free seating and can be bought at Bentley Music, Level 5, Gurney Paragon Mall. For more details, call 04-2262333 or the BOLD-PSDC Centre (04-6598611).
