THE New York City-based designer will be launching a new pop-up store with a social media twist.
During the upcoming Fall-Winter 2014 shows in the Big Apple, designer Marc Jacobs will be debuting an innovative new social media experiment, reports Fashionista.
At first the “Daisy Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop” sounds pretty normal, containing a lounge, nail art area, photo booth and drinks. But there’s something fresh about this pop-up where Daisy fragrances and accessories will be ready and waiting to be given away in exchange for a little social media publicity.
Using the #MJDaisyChain hashtag on your instagram and twitter posts will be rewarded with freebees, and the best instagram shot of the day will apparently win a Marc Jacobs handbag. It’s not yet clear how much your tweets will be worth, or whether they’ll be more valuable for the number of subsequent re-tweets you manage to generate.
Tommy Hilfiger has announced a similar initiative for its upcoming runway show on Feb 10. The Californian brand will be using a #tommyfall14 hashtag to create buzz before, during, and after the presentation, as well as employing instagram’s new instameet feature with a #nyfwinstameet tag. The Tommy Hilfiger instameet will allow fellow instagrammers in the area to meet up and hangout around the show.
