In the run-up to the Academy Awards last year, I raved about Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmaster which was nominated for Costume Design (When kungfu meets couture, Feb 26). This time around, allow me to wax lyrical about Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel (TGBH) that garnered nine Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.
