GSCs sprawling Maxx hall comes deliciously close to recreating single-screen cinemas of the old days in a multiplex environment.
Some of us ancients remember a time when the most “enhanced” movie viewing experience to be had was Sensurround, where huge speakers would be installed at strategic points of a cinema hall. The deep rumble they generated would simulate the tremors of an Earthquake, the rattle and thrum of a Rollercoaster, or the senses-shattering space wars fought by Battlestar Galactica.
From time to time, we’d get a 3D movie, the kind where you’d be given a pair of those cheap cardboard-mounted red and green lenses.
