Steve Carell, Daniel Craig, Seth Meyers join US President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in 1 Is 2 Many PSA.
Steve Carell, Daniel Craig and Seth Meyers are taking a stand against sexual assault with President Barack Obama, as well as other actors, in a new public service announcement called 1 Is 2 Many.
“It’s happening to our sisters and our daughters, our wives and our friends,” Carell and Craig say in video produced by the White House.
“It’s called sexual assault, and it has to stop,” Meyers adds.
Benicio del Toro and Psych star Dule Hill also join Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in the campaign to end sexual assaults on college campuses, as part of the “White House task force to protect students from sexual assault”.
According to the Obama administration, one in five women is sexually assaulted while in college, and young women, ages 16 to 24, experience the highest rates of sexual violence at the hands of someone they know.
The PSA will air in select Regal Entertainment Group and Cinemark movie theatres in the United States, over NCM Media Networks’ Lobby Entertainment Network (LEN), and in movie theatres on military installations and ships underway worldwide starting in May.
“I am honoured to be part of such an important and crucial project,” Craig, best known as James Bond, said in a statement. “The message is clear and simple; everyone has a responsibility. There are no exceptions. There are no excuses. Please watch it and pass it on.” — Reuters
