A couple who met as teenagers and were married for 70 years, almost never sleeping apart according to their kids, died within 24 hours of each other.
Helen Felumlee, 92, died on April 12 at their home in Nashport, Ohio, about 88km east of Columbus, and her husband Kenneth Felumlee, 91, passed away the next day, both of natural causes according to their joint obituary. “We knew when one went, the other was going to go,” daughter Linda Cody told the Zanesville Times Recorder. “We wanted them to go together, and they did.”
Helen and Kenneth met in their home state of Ohio when she was 18 and he was 19. Three years later they eloped to get married on Feb 20, 1944, after lying to their parents that they were going for a day trip to Kentucky. They didn't tell their folks about the wedding until a few weeks later.
