Health and fitness startup Noom just launched a new Android app called Walk that aims to be a "social pedometer" to rival Fitbit and Jawbone UP, only you won't need to wear a dedicated gadget.
The app works by tracking the footsteps you take every day while occupying about three percent of your smartphone's battery life. To keep you motivated, the app tracks your current day's and week's steps and lets you compare your progress with friends as well as with Noom's global community.
