Chefs to prepare a signature dish for judges and guests.
The lineup of chefs has been announced for an annual cooking competition that aims to highlight talented young chefs from around the world and promote the sport of regatta.
The 14th annual S. Pellegrino Cooking Cup is set to take place in Venice, Italy, on June 13 to 15, where young chefs from 10 countries, including the US, Canada, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates will vie for the Cooking Cup and titles like Young Chef of the Year, People’s Choice Award and Critic’s Choice Award.
Their task? To prepare a signature dish for 180 guests and a panel of eight illustrious judges that includes some of the top chefs in the world including Gastón Acurio, known as the culinary ambassador of Peru; Chef Ivan Li of Family Li Imperial Cuisine, the lifetime achievement award winner for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants; and last year’s Cooking Cup winner Paul Qui.
Chefs will also be tasked with cooking aboard individual boats.
The event is organised and sponsored by the same group that hosts the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
