Video: Man's shocking confession on TV dating show gets him instant boot

On a Turkish television dating show, a contestant searching for a new partner shocked audiences when he confessed to murdering his first wife and an ex-lover. Say what?

Perhaps the worst opening line in television dating show history, a 62-year-old man in in search of a new partner shocked the audience when he casually revealed he had murdered his former wife and a former lover.

Mr Wrong: Sefer Calinak, the 62-year-old contestant on a Turkish TV dating show who confessed to killing his first wife and a lover, and basically burned any future romantic prospects for good. Check out his name tag decorated with valentine hearts.

The thoroughly tactless man, Sefer Calinak, told Flash TV’s Luck of the Draw he had served prison sentences for each of the murders and had been released under an amnesty programme.

“I’m an honest person looking for a new wife,” he told the show, saying he killed his first wife because he was “irritated” by her behaviour and murdered a subsequent partner because he thought she was after his money.

In a YouTube clip of the confession that can be seen below, the host of the show is visibly shocked and disturbed by Calinak’s "honesty". She then asked him to leave the show, prompting applause from the studio audience, in an episode that made headlines in Turkish newspapers. – Reuters
