There is no fear of venue becoming a white elephant, says mayor.
SUPERSTAR architect Zaha Hadid’s London Aquatics Centre will open its doors to the public on March 1, offering swimming and diving lessons, water polo, synchronised swimming, triathlon, sub aqua and dry diving facilities.
Designed for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the building features a 2,500-seat capacity for spectators, although glazing along each side of the Centre has replaced the temporary stands used during the global sporting event.
