The golden swimmer
National swimmer Khoo Cai Lin has represented Malaysia for the past 12 years, and is still going strong as an international medal contender.
Khoo started swimming at the tender age of three and it remains her first love. The 25-year-old Olympian represented Malaysia in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics Games.
Despite her hectic schedule of juggling different responsibilities and long training hours, eating healthy has always been her main concern.
To keep her going, Khoo also believes in embracing positive thoughts that will lead to positive results.
Positive thinking is much more than just feeling happy or displaying a cheerful attitude.
It is about creating real value in our life that helps us build a solid foundation that will last much longer than a smile.
According to Khoo, positive thinking is a combination of various elements that will lead to great success.
“Positive Energy empowers me to take on the day confidently and enables me to juggle my hectic daily schedule of classes, trainings, exams and competitions. To achieve our goals, we need to have positive energy and mindset. I believe the one person that can hinder us from reaching our goals is ourselves,” says Khoo.
According to Khoo, nourishing the body with the right nutrition also plays a vital role in unlocking Positive Energy.
“What we feed our body will affect our thinking and moods. Without proper nutrition, we tend to get agitated easily. A balanced nutritious meal helps to unleash the Positive Energy within me, giving me the boost of energy to perform my training and compete,” says Khoo.
Kick-starting an active lifestyle isn’t that challenging – all it takes is a small step at a time.
“Start small: prepare a list of what you would like to achieve every day such as brisk walking in the park or participating in the Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day Run.”
