The award-winning show will begin its third and final season in November.
HBO has uploaded a mysterious teaser, kicking off the campaign for The Newsroom’s third and final season. Highly conceptual, the 40-second video focuses entirely on a copy machine printing out the script for the final episodes of The Newsroom, with close-ups revealing suggestive fragments of dialogue.
Among the most visible lines are attributed to the protagonist Will McAvoy, such as “You induced him to commit a felony; you conspired to commit espionage” and “I think it’s time for me to quit”.
Following its first and second seasons aired during the summer, The Newsroom will bow out with six final episodes slated to air starting in November. Jeff Daniels will return for his final performances as Will, a TV anchorman attempting to turn away from infotainment and deliver accurate, reliable journalism, even if it means making enemies of politicians and network executives. Emily Mortimer, Olivia Munn, Sam Waterston, Alison Pill, Dev Patel and John Gallagher Jr will also be seen in this third and final season.
Launched in September 2011, the drama on day-to-day operations at a 24-hour cable news network was created by Aaron Sorkin, the producer and screenwriter behind the series The West Wing and the feature film, The Social Network. — AFP Relaxnews
