Not so super: Tom Welling isn’t as fortunate as former co-star Kristin Kreuk, acting in only two films since his Smallville days.
Check out what the former stars of the once popular TV series are doing now.
FOR a while, it seemed Kristin Kreuk’s portrayal of Lana Lang on Smallville did little to catapult the TV actress’ career. After ending her stint in the Superman TV adaptation in 2009 (the show eventually ended in 2011), Kreuk failed to land any major roles ... unless you consider her performance in the slapstick sci-fi, Space Milkshake. But of course, TV land couldn’t get enough of this dazzling actress and came knocking on her door to star in Beauty And The Beast in 2012. Let’s check in on the rest of the Smallville cast:
Tom Welling (Superman / Clark Kent)
It’s not going so well for Welling. The actor seems to have taken a hiatus, having only two films to his credit since Smallville ended. Welling starred in Parkland, a film recounting the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated, as US Secret Service Agent Roy Kellerman and the soon-to-be-released baseball drama Draft Day, starring opposite Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner.
In 2010, Welling also went behind-the-scenes, serving as executive producer in the cheerleading series, Hellcats.
Things aren’t going so great on the personal front either, with the 36-year-old actor’s 10-year marriage ending last year.
Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan)
Mack dabbled in some short films as Smallville was about to end. In 2011, she starred in the independent flick, Marilyn, as the assistant to real-life notorious bank robber Paddy Mitchell.
These days, Mack can be found on the set of Wilfred, landing a recurring role on the TV comedy.
Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor)
Rosenbaum has become quite an established voice actor even while working on Smallville, voicing a variety of characters on the 2001 animated TV series Justice League.
He’s still doing some of that plus nabbing a recurring role on the sitcom, Breaking In.
This year, he made his directing and writing debut with comedy flick Back In The Day.
Oh, the 41-year-old actor looks like he hasn’t aged a day since Smallville, too, though now he sports a full head of hair.
Erica Durance (Lois Lane)
Looks like Lois Lane and Lana Lang are in competition once again. Durance is the leading lady in the successful supernatural medical drama, Saving Hope, giving Kreuk’s performance in Beauty And The Beast a run for her money.
She plays a doctor whose fiance is in a coma after a car accident, but his spirit roams around the hospital helping patients.
Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen)
If you tuned in to Season Three of Revenge and thought the actor playing Victoria’s long lost son, Patrick Osbourne, looks familiar, he is none other than Hartley.
The actor was also a series regular on the short lived Emily Owens, M.D. – Kenneth Chaw
