Championing Children is a campaign initiated by Star Radio Group to raise awareness on child abuse and to provide an avenue for the community to learn more about it.

The campaign, which runs concurrently on the four radio stations’ websites – Red FM, 988, SuriaFM and Capital FM – is delivered in three languages. Listeners can obtain information on the different types of abuse, the signs of abuse and the helplines on these websites.

“Championing Children is part of our effort to educate the general public on child abuse and the importance of keeping our children safe,” says Star Radio Group chief operating officer Kudsia Kahar.

Meanwhile, don’t miss the chance to be in the running to win RM10,000 by taking part in Capital FM’s What’s In A Word. The contest happens during Capital Breakfast (weekdays, 6am-10am) and The Jam Break (weekdays, 4pm-8pm).

To take part, you need to be the seventh caller through when you hear the cue to call on these two shows. Once you get through, just provide the definitions of the three words picked for the day. Don’t worry, the announcers will give you options, you just need to identify correctly. Even if you do not get the definitions right you will still walk away with a one-year subscription of Reader’s Digest.
