The electronic dance music trio’s music documentary will be screened in selected GSC cinemas nationwide.
They played, they conquered the electronic dance music (EDM) scene ... and then they left.
In 2012, when Swedish disc jockeys and producers Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso – better known as Swedish House Mafia – announced their retirement, fans didn’t take to the news too easily.
Why? Because the group had only officially formed in late 2008 and most fans assumed that they would have ample time to catch the trio live in action in one of its legendary performances.
Besides, which group even thinks of a retirement at the height of its success? Well, Swedish House Mafia did – and the only reason the DJs came to that conclusion was to save their friendship.
Rumours were rife that there was tension within the group, and you can figure whether or not any of it rings true in Leave The World Behind, a music documentary following the final days of the group on its One Last Tour show. The docu-film gives audiences a glimpse into the DJs’ lives as they say goodbye from the start of their tour in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Nov 16, 2012 right up to the final showcase on March 24 in Florida in the US.
See the group in its finest hour as it performs some of its biggest hits such as Don’t You Worry Child, Save The World, One, Miami To Ibiza and more.
Directed by Christian Larson, Leave The World Behind encapsulates the essence of Swedish House Mafia’s final world tour, which subsequently became the largest EDM tour in history with over one million tickets sold in just one week.
Now, if you are one of the millions of Swedish House Mafia fans who unfortunately did not manage to catch the trio in action, don’t worry you can still watch the docu-film. Thanks to Golden Screen Cinemas, you can catch Leave The World Behind on big the screen! However, the docu-film will only be screened once (at 9.30pm) at selected GSC cinemas on April 11.
The cinemas are: GSC Signature at The Gardens Mall, GSC Mid Valley, GSC Pavlion KL and GSC Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur, GSC 1-Utama and GSC Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, GSC Alamanda Putrajaya in Putrajaya, GSC Gurney Plaza in Penang and GSC AEON Bandaraya in Malacca.
