Legendary State of Trance show returns to Malaysia next March.
THIRTY thousand fans were buoyed by the appearance of a host of trance deejays, led by the Dutch trance giant Armin van Buuren (pic) earlier this year when the producer/deejay’s legendary radio show A State of Trance (ASOT) made its first visit to Malaysia.
The ASOT 600 World Tour event at the Sepang International Circuit in March (complemented the Future Music Festival 2013) underlined the fact that outdoor dance parties are still a huge proposition here.
Having previously visited Kuala Lumpur many times, it was also, for Van Buuren, his first outdoor festival appearance on Malaysian shores.
Well, the 36-year-old is due back for more outdoor trance goodness as fans in this region welcome news that festival organisers Future Music Group Australia and Livescape Asia have secured the reigning DJ Mag No. 1 for another epic night out in Malaysia.
Van Buuren and his legendary radio show will return to Malaysia for Day Two of next year’s Future Music Festival Asia 2014 (FMFA), which runs through March 13-15.
It will be part of Van Buuren’s ASOT 650: New Horizons tour.
Armin’s ASOT650 show will take place on March 14 at a yet to be disclosed location in Kuala Lumpur.
“This is something that we are really excited about because Armin himself has chosen to have ASOT return to Kuala Lumpur. So we hope our fans will be as excited as we are,” said Iqbal Ameer, director of the local based events outfit Livescape Asia.
The show which tours worldwide annually has just announced its ASOT 650 New Horizons tour on its website with other destinations including Yekaterinburg (Russia), Buenos Aires, Miami, Utrecht (Netherlands) and Jakarta. Kuala Lumpur marks the only city after Miami where the ASOT show is being hosted in the same city for two years running.
A State of Trance is one of the most popular radio mix shows on the planet – with an estimated listenership of 25 million people across 26 countries worldwide.
The full FMFA festival next year will be a three-day affair with the first and third day line-up set to be unveiled at a press conference on Oct 17.
Brett Robinson, the director of Future Music Group Australia added, “With us already announcing our line-up in Australia, what I can reveal for now without giving away too much about the rest of the Future Music Festival Asia 2014 is that it is going to be our biggest line-up to date.”
The epic Future Music Festival Asia that thrilled over 55,000 in March this year (over two days) is dubbed as the largest music festival to ever hit South-East Asian shores.
The festival next year is targeting a massive 75,000 fans, including an influx of 20,000 tourists, and organisers Livescape Asia has previously hinted that the festival next year will likely take place at a venue closer to the city.
