SHARON Stone has been tapped as the United States’ first female vice-president on TNT’s pilot, Agent X. Her character is named Natalie Maccabee and is described as a woman with brains, beauty, and a cool composure that belies a restless mind.
Here’s more on the character from TNT: “After the death of her husband, a Senate candidate, Natalie opted to run in his place,” TNT said. “After a rapid rise as a political star, she now finds herself the newly elected Vice-President of the United States. Initially apprehensive that her job will be ceremonial in nature, she soon learns that it comes with a Top Secret duty: protecting the Constitution in times of great crisis with the aid of her Chief Steward and a secret operative designated ‘Agent X’.”
Though best known as the alluring siren in 1992’s Basic Instinct opposite Michael Douglas, Stone was nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe for 1995’s Casino. Her TV credits include the 2001 HBO movie If These Walls Could Talk 2, ABC’s The Practice, NBC’s Will & Grace, ABC’s Roseanne and NBC’s Law And Order: Special Victims Unit.
Agent X is written by William Blake Herron (The Bourne Identity) with Armyan Bernstein (Air Force One, Spy Game) serving as executive producer. – Reuters
