Neil Patrick Harris has been nominated for his first Tony Award. The How I Met Your Mother actor – who has hosted the ceremony four times – has just earned his first nod for best actor in a musical for his performance in his big Broadway comeback, Hedwig And The Angry Inch, which marks the first time he has taken to the stage in a decade.
Chris O’Dowd also received his debut nomination in the category of best actor in a play for Of Mice And Men, as did Bryan Cranston for All The Way. The pair will face off against Samuel Barnett (Twelfth Night), Mark Rylance (Richard III) and Tony Shalhoub (Act One).
Meanwhile, Neil was joined in his own category by Ramin Karimloo (Les Miserables), Andy Karl (Rocky) and Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham (both for A Gentleman’s Guide To Love & Murder).
