Foam Dome: Designed by vPPR Architects, the dome made entirely of foam will be unveiled during the 100% Design fair in London this month.
A domed pavilion made completely of foam will be unveiled in the UK this fall as part of the 100% Design fair.
Created by vPPR Architects, the “Foam Dome” will be made up of soap, water and air, emitted from a white geodesic mesh. The bubble foam has been designed to create an interactive breathing membrane around the structure.
The purpose of the installation is to focus on the theme of well-being, with the concept referencing luxurious bubble baths and indulgent spa experiences. The interior of the dome will house a range of pieces from design studio Turkish Ceramics and reclining chairs to create a spa-like ambiance.
”We’ve designed Foam Dome around the idea of cleanliness, referencing an indulgent, purifying spa experience,” explains Director of vPPR Architects Jessica Reynolds. ”We think that the characteristics of foam offer a playful and complementary approach to the beautiful curved glazed ceramic surfaces of Turkish Ceramics’ innovative products.”
