| IMPAC Dublin Literary Award for Young Malaysians 2009 |
In 1995, IMPAC, in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Dublin City, established the world's richest book prize. This prize is awarded to the author of a work of fiction written in English or translated into English. Dublin was chosen to host this prize on account of the city's rich literary heritage. IMPAC is now involved in organising young writers' awards in a number of countries. |

| Contest Rules & Regulations |
1. Entries must contain the participant's full name, I.C. number, address, telephone number, e-mail address (if any) and name of school.
2. Judging of the entries will be based on originality, creativity and structure of the essay. Essay should be written or typed double-spaced on A4-sized paper. Word count must be included.
3. All decisions made by the panel of judges and matters pertaining to the contest are final. No correspondence will be entertained.
4. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt. Revisions of essays which were submitted earlier will not be accepted.
5.Entries must be the original work of the entrant. Quotations should be acknowledged. Plagiarised or copied entries will be disqualified.
6. The Star reserves the right to photograph any winner and publish and/or use the names, particulars and photographs of the participants and their essays at any time, without prior notice or consent. The participants agree to indemnify the Organiser against all loss, costs and claims if the participants entry (entries) infringes the copyright of any party.
7. Results of the contest will be published in The Star.
