LEARN how to create your dream outdoor space at the Landscape Asia Expo and Conference 2017 (LAX 17).
Organised by EG Groups Holdings Sdn Bhd, there will be 50 exhibitors taking up 100 booths, offering more than 1,000 products, services and the latest technology in landscaping.
“LAX 17 is the first landscape architecture and design trade show for landscape architects, designers, builders and suppliers in Malaysia and the South-East Asia region.
“Landscaping is a multi-billion-dollar industry that has yet to be fully explored.
“With LAX 17, we hope local players will take this opportunity to meet other leaders in the landscape industry and expand their business network,” said EG Groups Holding Sdn Bhd founder and LAX 17 organising chairman Moey Sai Yee.
Moey added that LAX 17 also marks EG Group’s 20th anniver-sary in the exhibition industry.
At the opening ceremony, EG Group also launched the Live Green Box Campaign, a corporate social responsibility initiative to educate and encourage the younger generation to plant, protect and preserve our green national heritage.
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry National Landscape Department director-general Esa Ahmad said the campaign is in line with the government’s policy to create landscape development programmes for functional and sustainable green infrastructure.
“We are blessed with an abundance of sunshine, rain and lush greenery all-year round.
“I urge society to continue to work and care for our natural resources so that future genera-tions can also enjoy what we have.
“Our nation’s green develop-ment and its sustainability depends on us,” he said.
The campaign also aims to reduce Malaysia’s carbon footprint.
The three-day event is expected to attract about 2,000 industry players and international delegates from countries like the Nether-lands, Singapore, India, the Philippines, China and South Korea, and more than 15,000 trade visitors.
Conferences and workshops are also being held to further enrich the exhibition experience for visitors.
In August, EG Groups held a landscape design competition in which participants were given a 2m by 2m space to design their idea of an urban sustainable green future.
At the prize-giving ceremony, the top three winners received trophies, certificates and cash vouchers worth a total of RM6,000.
LAX 2017 is taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today from 10am to 5pm.
There will be 2,000 door gifts and mystery prizes up for grabs. Admission is free.
LAX 2017 is supported by the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry and other local and regional institutes and associations. For details, visit www.eggroups.com
