Perdana Petroleum bags vessel charter contracts

KUALA LUMPUR: Perdana Petroleum Bhd has secured contracts from Dayang Enterprise Sdn Bhd (DESB) worth RM13.4mil for the charter of one unit of anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessel and one unit of accommodation work barge (AWB).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Perdana Petroleum said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd (PNSB) has accepted the letters of award from DESB, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd, which is a major shareholder of Perdana Petroleum.

Perdana Petroleum said the estimated value of vessel charters, without an extension period, is RM4mil for the AHTS and RM9.4mil for the AWB unit.

The commencement date for the charters is March 1, 2024, with a duration of 110 days and an option to extend for an additional 50 days.

“The vessels charter are part of the strategic alliance between Dayang Group and Perdana Petroleum where the utilisation of its vessels can be maximised and qualified to bid for more offshore maintenance works,” Perdana Petroleum said.

The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024.
