Trading ideas: Gamuda, QES Group, Wah Seong, Muhibbah, Sunview, KNM


KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch on Thursday include Gamuda Bhd, QES Group Bhd, Wah Seong Corp Bhd, Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd, Sunview Group Bhd, KNM Group Bhd and Classita Holdings Bhd (formerly known as Caely Holdings Bhd), according to Apex Securities.

Gamuda plans to acquire a 30% stake in ERS Energy Sdn Bhd for RM200mil.

QES Group has secured approval to transfer of its listing to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.

Wah Seong has secured a contract worth RM557.65mil for the supply of certain floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) modules by Yinson.

Muhibbah has secured a RM322mil contract from Petronas Carigali.

Sunview was awarded a RM120mil engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract relating to a solar energy-generating facility located in Bestari Jaya, Selangor.

KNM has defaulted on three credit facilities totalling RM417.6mil on Dec 1.

The MACC has unfrozen the bank accounts of troubled lingerie maker Classita Holdings Bhd (formerly known as Caely Holdings Bhd).

Overnight, the US market was mixed overnight with the Dow ending flat while the S&P and Nasdaq declined as investors await the jobless claims data later today.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average eked out a gain of 1.58 points, roughly flat, to finish the session at 33,597.92.

The S&P slipped 0.19% to end the session at 3,933.92 while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.51% to end at 10,958.55.

Earlier, European stocks declined over renewed fears of a global recession.

“Following the recent bearish sentiment, the FBM KLCI could test the support of 1,465 points,” Apex said.
