Spritzer looks at options with RM76mil land buy

The land is located about 15km from Spritzer’s present mineral water plant at Air Kuning, Taiping.

PETALING JAYA: Spritzer Bhd’s planned acquisition of a piece of land in Trong, Perak is part of its longer-term plans for the company’s expansion. The mineral water bottler will pay RM76.11mil to acquire this piece of agriculture land, which is currently an oil palm plantation.

Spritzer’s group financial controller Sow Yeng Chong told StarBiz that when the land was put up for sale, the company saw it as a right opportunity on which it had to act before it slipped away.

“Actually, we were not actively looking to purchase any land, as our plant utilisation is now at about 70% of the total capacity of 750 million liters per year. We had seen some impact from the pandemic, ” Sow said.
