PetChem can grow further despite sector down-cycle

According to CGS-CIMB Research PetChem's net cash position allows the company to pursue expansion projects for organic growth and merger and acquisition opportunities to strengthen its presence in specialty chemicals. The company also has good parentage in the national oil company, Petronas.

PETALING JAYA: With its balance sheet strength, Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (PetChem) has room to grow further despite the petrochemical sector down-cycle.

The company is also seen to have several “structural advantages” that make it a well-regarded petrochemical stock, said CGS-CIMB Research.
