MSC: Full smelting ops at Pulau Indah plant to start soon

Group chief executive officer Datuk Dr Patrick Yong said the company’s relocation was necessary.

KUALA LUMPUR: Tin miner and metal producer Malaysia Smelting Corp Bhd’s (MSC) relocation to its new smelting facility in Pulau Indah, Port Klang is progressing well with full smelting operations expected to commence in the near term.

However, the impending move to Pulau Indah will also involve an internal restructuring exercise affecting some 550 employees at its Butterworth plant. There will be a reduction in manpower as the new modern plant requires less workers, Bernama reported.
