Majuperak appoints acting CEO and chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Majuperak Holdings Bhd, a subsidiary of Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP), has appointed Salween Azila Ahmad Tauffik as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from Aug 15.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said this was in view of outgoing Managing Director and Group CEO Rustam Apandi Jamaludin who would be on leave from Aug 15 to Sept 30 -- the final days of his contract.

Salween Azila has been PKNP General Manager (South Perak Region Development) since 2014.  Majuperak also announced several new non-executive appointments effective Aug 10, including PKNP Chief Executive Officer Mohd Ariff Yeop Ishak’s redesignation as Chairman.

He succeeds Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas, who retired on June 25.

Meanwhile, Megat Shariffudin Ibrahim, Leong Cheok Keng, Amran Alang Ahmad, Ahmad Najmi Kamaruzaman, and Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad have been appointed to the board while Datuk Mahdi Morad and Datuk Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib resigned to pursue other interests. - Bernama
