Freight Management reports higher Q2 earnings


KUALA LUMPUR: Freight Management Holdings Bhd's earnings rose 16.1% to RM5.87mil in the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2017 from RM5.05mil a year ago as a result of gain on dilution on investment in TCH Marine Pte. Ltd.

The logistics company reported on Wednesday revenue rose 14.4% to RM132.03mil from RM115.39mil mainly due to increase of activities.

The group’s profit before tax (PBT) increased by 15% to RM7.9mil.  Earnings per share were 3.15 sen compared with 2.81 sen.

Freight Management said all services reported growth other than the tug and barge service which reported two months compared with three months a year ago.

Seafreight contributed the highest revenue contribution at RM83.9mil – up 14% on-year. Its 3PL and warehousing recorded growth of  35% to RM15.4mil and the landfreight services was up 21% to RM5.1mil.

In the first half ended Dec 31, 2017, earnings rose 14.5% to RM11.83mil from RM10.32mil in FY16. Its revenue increased by 17.9% to RM259.75mil from RM220.17mil.
