Ringgit dips vs US$ early Monday ahead of BNM meet


At 9 am(0100gmt), the local unit opened at 4.0480/0510 against the US dollar from Monday's 4.0600/0650.

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit was lower against the US dollar early Monday on cautious demand for the local currency and ahead of Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM) Monetary Policy Committee meeting this Thursday, said a dealer.

At 9.00 am(0100gmt), the ringgit stood at 3.9380/9430 against the greenback from last Friday's close 3.9360/9400.
