EITA bags RM70mil deal to install lifts, escalators at MRT stations

KUALA LUMPUR: EITA Resources Bhd has clinched a RM69.83mil contract to supply and install lift and escalator systems for the elevated mass rapid transit (MRT) stations along the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya line.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd had appointed its wholly-owned subsidiary, EITA Elevator (M) Sdn Bhd, as the designated contractor for lifts and escalators under four work packages.

“A total number of 30 units of lift and 77 units of escalator will be supplied and installed,” said the maker of elevator systems and electrical and electronic parts.

The job is expected to be completed by April 2022.

EITA said the contract would not have any material effect on the group’s net assets and gearing for the financial year ending Sept 30, 2018.

For the financial year ended Sept 30, 2016, the manufacturing division contributed 54% of the EITA group’s revenue due to the progressive completion of its contract to supply and install its elevators, escalators and travellators at some MRT stations.
