Avillion appoints Amirul Azhar as acting group CEO

The Avillion Admiral Cove's spacious hotel rooms and magnificent marina view are well-received by many.

KUALA LUMPUR: Avillion Bhd (formerly Reliance Pacific Bhd) has appointed Amirul Azhar Baharom as acting group chief executive officer.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the hospitality industry player said Amirul, 44, was deputy chief executive prior to this appointment, which was effective Tuesday.

He was appointed to the Avillion board on Dec 16, 2015, and was subsequently resigned and re-designated as deputy chief executive on Oct 10, 2016.

Datin Irene Tan’s term as chief executive officer expired on Sept 30 last year. In a filing on his appointment as executive director last October, group managing director See Ah Sin was also listed as chief executive.

Avillion is involved in managing hotels and resorts as well as in providing travel services and tours. It is also engaged in property development.

In the financial year ended March 31, 2017, the loss-making group saw major changes in its major shareholders and management.
