KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd is targeting sales of more than RM300mil for its Signature Selection: Road to Russia 2018 home ownership campaign.

Managing director and CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said the company was optimistic about the take up rate, in spite of the current property market slowdown.

“We have huge expectations (with this campaign) and what we’re offering is exciting indeed,” he told reporters at the launch of the campaign today.

UEM Sunrise’s Signature Selection: Road to Russia 2018 home ownership campaign, which is in conjunction with next year’s FIFA World Cup, will run from Aug 15 to Nov 30.

Purchasers of featured properties under the campaign stand a chance to win attractive prizes, including trips to Russia to catch the World Cup.

According to reports, UEM Sunrise is targeting RM1.2bil in sales this year. It expects to launch RM1.7bil worth of projects both locally and internationally for 2017.

Last year, the company revised its RM1.5bil sales target to RM1bil and managed to achieve RM1.4bil.

UEM Sunrise’s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31 increased significantly to RM61.3mil compared to RM3mil in the previous corresponding period as a result of higher property development revenue and the revision of the estimated cost for completed projects.

Revenue jumped 110% to RM541.8mil from RM257.75mil for the period.

Unrecognised revenue as at March 31, 2017 stood at RM3.7bil compared to RM4.7bil as at March 31, 2016.
