KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Bhd’s leasing arm, Asia Aviation Capital Ltd (AACL), has incorporated Asia Aviation Capital (Ireland) Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company,  in an effort to establish a leasing platform and marketing presence in Europe.

The unit was established via Asia Aviation Capital Pte Ltd, a unit of AACL, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

”The subsidiary is not expected to have any immediate effect on the issued and paid-up share capital or substantial shareholders’ shareholding in AirAsia,” it said.

AirAsia said the establishment of the subsidiary did not require the approval of shareholders of the company and any other regulatory authorities in Malaysia. - Bernama
