Petronas Dagangan announces board changes

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PetDag) has announced changes to its board, with the addition of Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir and the resignation of Mohamed Firouz Asnan and Erwin Miranda Elechicon.

The Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s main domestic marketing arm said these changes were effective July 31.

Syed Zainal Abidin, 54, is currently Petronas vice president for marketing (downstream business).

Mohamed Firouz, 51, resigned due to “change of portfolio within the Petronas group.” He has been Petronas vice-president of refining and trading, but the announcement did not give details on any change in his management area.

He also sits on the board of  Petronas’ subsidiary MISC Bhd

Elechicon, 59, resigned following the expiry of his service contract. The Filipino had been on PetDag’s board for three years - since Aug 1, 2014.
