SC and Bursa: Trading operates as per normal on Monday

KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Commission (SC) and Bursa Malaysia said stock trading continued to operate as per normal on Monday following cyber attacks, known as distributed denial of service attacks, on online trading last week.

Below is their full joint media statement, titled Cyber Incident, issued on Monday evening:

Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia would like to inform investors that trading continued to operate per normal today.

SC and Bursa Malaysia are working closely with the National Security Council (NSC) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to manage any potential cyber security incidents. NSC is the agency responsible for managing and coordinating the implementation of policies related to the security of Malaysia.
 
SC and Bursa Malaysia would like to emphasise that the management of cyber security risk remains a high priority and all brokers have been advised to remain vigilant.
