Trading ideas: Eastern and Oriental, Fajarbaru and Boustead

UOB Kay Hian Malaysia Research expects Malaysian equities to be energised in 1H17 by a firmer ringgit and general election buzz.

KUALA LUMPUR: Eastern and Oriental, Fajarbaru and Boustead Holdings are among the stocks to watch on Monday, says JF Apex Research.

It said that E&O is divesting one of its subsidiaries, E&O Express Sdn Bhd (EOE), which owns and operates the Lone Pine Hotel in Batu Feringghi, Penang, for RM85mil.

As  for Fajarbaru, it bagged a RM12.8mil contract from Petronas Dagangan Bhd to build an underground pipeline foundation at klia2.

JF Apex Research said Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd has given a 90-day notice to Boustead Holdings’ 51%-owned subsidiary MHS Aviation Bhd (MHS) that it plans to terminate a contract which was signed in June 2011 due to safety concerns.

Under the June 2011 contract, MHS provides the services of five EC225 helicopters from Kertih, Terengganu, to transport personnel to offshore facilities operated by Petronas Carigali in Peninsular Malaysia
