SAN FRANCISCO: Google is doing major internal overhauls with Android, unveiling the eighth iteration of its operating system (OS) - Android O.
But it is the “budget” version of the OS that is getting a buzz with analysts. At the 2017 Google I/O developer conference in Mountain View, Android and Google Play product management vice president Sameer Samat announced that Android O will also come with Android Go - a stripped down version of O, which is meant to run cheaper, entry-level smartphones.
