Agrobank receives recognition at Global Good Governance Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: Agrobank has received another recognition at the Global Good Governance Awards (3G Awards) for the 3G Financial Services Award category.

The award was in recognition of the bank’s strong contribution in financial inclusion and initiatives undertaken to broaden access to finance, it said in a statement.

The 3G Awards are presented to governments, corporate and non-governmental organisations for excellence in transparency, good governance and social responsibility.

The event was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and attended by more than 400 guests from all over the world.

“Agrobank always believe that financial inclusion is a powerful agent for strong and inclusive economic growth, empowering individuals and community to better their lives,” said president and chief executive officer, Datuk Wan Mohd Fadzmi Wan Othman.

Last year, Agrobank recorded a remarkable growth of 16.7% with total financing value reaching RM8.685bil, the bank’s best achievement in the last five years.

At the same event, Agrobank chairman Tan Sri Mohamad zabidi received the 3G Lifetime Achievement Awards for his outstanding contribution in the public sector for more than 37 years. - Bernama
