Prasarana keen to build Brunei metro system


The audit will cover areas such as safety, maintenance and reliability levels as well as the availability of the rail line service, including the Kelana Jaya and Ampang light rail transits (LRT) as well as the Kuala Lumpur monorail


KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd is eyeing the Brunei market to build a metro network system there, said its president and group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azmi Abdul Aziz.

"The Brunei government has invited us to participate on how we can introduce a public transport system to the city there. 

“We are proposing something to advise the government on this matter to bring up the level of public transport in the country," he said on Monday.

Azmi said Prasarana would put forward such a proposal to the the government e are making this proposal and we will let the government decide on how to move forward," he added.

Prasarana said it was targeting to derive some 15% to 30% of its revenue from non-fare activities.

"These include also foreign based revenue," he said.
