KUALA LUMPUR: Brahim’s Holdings Bhd has struck a deal to operate and/or sublet cafeterias at five sites in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Bangi, and to give training and consultancy services for UKM’s other cafeterias.
Announcing this to Bursa Malaysia, the inflight caterer said its subsidiary Brahim’s SATS Food Services Sdn Bhd (BSFS) inked two cafeteria operation agreements with UKM on Friday
One contract is for leasing, renovation and upgrading of these “designated cafeterias”: Chancellery cafeteria, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment cafeteria, Faculty of Science and Technology cafeteria, Tun Abdullah Mohd Salleh Hall’s food court lots and Faculty of Economics and Management’s Teres Eko-Niaga food outlets.
The other is to provide training and consultancy services for other cafeterias.
Both are based on a profit sharing scheme based on the amount calculated of the quarterly profit of business at the designated cafeterias leased to BSFS.
Under the agreement, BSFS will at its own cost operate, supply and serve meals, beverages and refreshments of the types and standard befitting a three-star premium outlet, and/or sublet portions of the designated cafeterias to other operators subject to the Guidelines on Subletting issued from time to time.
Brahim’s has also signed a memorandum of understanding with another institution of higher learning, Universiti Teknologi Mara Bhd, which is for the collaboration and promotion of academic and scientific activities and human capital development.
The MoU, entered into in February 2013, was supposed to be in effect for a period of three years. However, there has been no material development since the signing of the MoU.
