Moody's sees Telekom's 2016 results in line, supports A3 ratings


Eyes on Webe to become profitable and boost Telekom Malaysia's earnings

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd's (TM, A3 stable) 2016 results are in  line with expectations and support the company's A3 issuer and senior unsecured ratings and stable outlook, says Moody's Investors Service.

It said on Friday TM's consolidated revenue grew 2.9% on-year in 2016 to RM12.1bil, with internet and data revenue up 8.9% and 2.8% respectively on-year, and traditional fixed line voice down 5.0%.  Non-voice services collectively represented 72% of total revenues in 2016.
