MALAYSIANS consumers have been pinched as sentiments on the ground feel that income increases do not correspond with the rising cost of living.
Since the middle of 2014, the government has been reducing the subsidy bill, from 18.1% of operating expenditure in 2014 to an estimated 10.4% in Budget 2017, in an effort to shrink its fiscal deficit.
