Audi A4 launch.

PETALING JAYA: Audi Malaysia aims to sell over 400 units of its all-new A4 sedan per year.

Its marketing director, Rudi Venter, said the A4 sedan was an important model for the brand as it was the best-selling model worldwide.

“We are introducing a car that is bigger in almost every aspect, lighter, more agile, powerful and fuel-efficient.

“Now in its ninth generation, the Audi A4 continues a remarkable record of pushing the benchmark for its class,” he told reporters at the launch of the A4 in Petaling Jaya on Monday.

Originally introduced in 1972 as Audi 80, the A4 marked an entry point into the premium motoring class and has always showcased Audi’s progressive thinking and engineering, he said.

The new Audi A4 2.0-litre turbo fuel stratified injection will be available from Sept 20 at all authorised Audi dealerships, priced from RM248,900 with the first 100 units to be sold at a special introductory price of RM239,900, which is the same retail price as the outgoing model.

It comes equipped with a host of electronic features to ensure efficient and safe driving experience including a start/stop system with energy recuperation, electronic stabilisation control, traction control, electronic brake force distribution, electronic differential lock, parking aid plus with selective display.

On future plans, Venter said Audi Malaysia planned to unveil a completely new car, the Q2, followed by new launches for A5 and A3 in 2017. - Bernama
