MRT Corp awards RM152.9m fare collection package to Indra Sistemas-Rasma consortium

MRT Corp CEO Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar said this work package was one of the major ones for the construction of the SSP Line.

KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has awarded the RM152.9 million automatic fare collection (AFC) work package for the MRT-Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) line to Indra Sistemas and Rasma Corporation Consortium.

The award consists of engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning work of the AFC, MRT said in a statement on Friday.

Chief executive Officer Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar said the award marked another step forward in the development of the Klang Valley MRT project's second MRT line.

He said the Indra Sistemas-Rasma consortium was among five groups that participated in the tender for the work package.

He also said the successful tenderer was evaluated on both technical and commercial scores, with the winner not necessarily the lowest bidder.

The AFC system comprises all software, inclusive of the necessary licences, fare media, AFC central computer, station accounting computers, automatic fare gates, ticket vending machines, office ticket processor, cash handling system and other related work. - Bernama
