KUALA LUMPUR: Gadang Holdings Bhd, Barakah Offshore Petroleum Bhd and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) are some of the stocks which could see trading interest on Friday after their corporate announcements, according to JF Apex Research.
The research house also expects Malayan Banking Bhd, Aeon Co (M) Bhd, Genting group, Padini, Yee Lee Corp Bhd, 7-Eleven, Censof, E&O, Econpile Holdings Bhd to generate some trading interest after their quarterly results announcements yesterday.
JF Apex said Gadang has proposed 1-to-2 share split, 1-for-4 bonus issue, and bonus issue of warrants on the basis of one free warrant for every subdivided shares held.
As for Barakah, the has received a letter of award from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) for the provision of underwater services for oil and gas fields in East Malaysia.
MAHB’s 49%-owned Qatar unit received a QAR163.9 (RM180.8mil) extension contract yesterday from Hamad International Airport (HIA) to provide facility management services for airport operational facilities and ancillary buildings including its change orders for the Doha-based airport.
Meanwhile, JF Apex said the US markets closed lower overnight led by healthcare counters as investors wait for a speech from Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen later today.
Similarly, European stocks declined after being weighed down by automotive, mining and healthcare counters following investors’ cautious mood ahead of the Yellen’s speech.
“On the local front, the FBM KLCI shed 1.76 points to 1,680.30 points. Following the negative performance from both the US and Europe, the FBM KLCI could remain pressured towards its support level of 1675 points,” JF Apex said.
