MRCB posts RM109mil operating profit in Q2


KUALA LUMPUR: Construction and property firm Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd’s (MRCB) operating profit declined 19.08% to RM109.51mil in the second quarter ended June 30, 2016, compared to the corresponding quarter last year.

In a filing with the stock exchange, MRCB said its net profit for the quarter dropped 24.3% to RM45.50mil, against 26.6% lower revenue of RM389.19mil from a year ago.

Earnings per share reduced to 2.44 sen from 3.36 sen in the previous year. For the cumulative six months, MRCB’s net profit was down 83% at RM49.89mil against revenue of RM825.21mil from RM934.47mil a year ago.

The company gained RM239.7mil and RM38.8mil from the disposals of Platinum Sentral and other assets, as well as its 70% equity interest in Paradigma Berkat Sdn Bhd, respectively, according to its notes to the exchange.
