Perodua maintains 2016 sales target - driven by newly launched Bezza

PETALING JAYA: Perodua is maintaining its sales target of 216,000 units for 2016, as it expects to more than double sales to 118,600 units in the second half of the year from the 97,400 units it sold in the first half.

The company expects sales to be driven by its new energy efficient sedan, the Bezza, which was launched last week.

Bookings for the Bezza have already reached 10,115 units as of today, with 500 deliveries made since it was launched on July 21, said Perodua president and CEO Datuk Aminah Rashid Salleh.

“We began mass production of the Bezza since June and have a ready stock of 7,000 units as of July 21,” he said today at a briefing on the company’s sales performance for the first half of 2016.

The Bezza comes in five variants – the 1.0 litre manual transmission and automatic transmission; the 1.3 litre “Premium X” manual and automatic transmission; and the 1.3 litre “advanced version” automatic transmission.

The car comes in six different colours, which include Sugar Brown and Ocean Blue for the 1.3L variants, which are new metallic colours for Perodua, as well as the existing colours of Lava Red, Ebony Black, Glittering Silver and Solid Ivory White. Perodua uses eco-friendly water-based paint which also provides a better finish.
