However, the negative sentiment turned positive shortly after that, as buyers emerged from the sidelines to seek bargains, taking comfort from a steadier Wall Street, which saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average ending at a record high the previous Friday on upbeat economic data and growing confidence at the start of the reporting season.
