Wage gap conundrum

There is always office gossip about how much so-and-so is getting in terms of salary and benefits, and the speculation on the amount gets ever higher if the target of the gossip is in senior management. It happens anywhere in the world.

Malaysian household incomes have been rising, if indicators such as the Gini co-efficient, which measures inequality, is to be believed. It is now at the lowest level ever, Statistics Department data from 2014 show. If household incomes are a proxy for wages, then wages should be rising too.
