Tabung Haji appoints Johan as MD and CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's pilgrimage fund board, Lembaga Tabung Haji, has appointed Datuk Johan Abdullah as the group managing director and chief executive officer effective July 1.

Tabung Haji said on Thursday Johan succeeds Tan Sri Ismee Ismail who completed his service at end-June after a tenure of more than a decade on the board.

Johan holds a Masters in Business Administration (Finance) degree from Morehead State University and also a degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Eastern Michigan University.

Prior to joining Tabung Haji as the deputy group managing director and CEO on Jan 15 last year, he served as the managing director and CEO at BIMB Holdings Bhd from May 2008.

He also held several senior positions at Bursa Malaysia Bhd and has extensive experience in the areas of corporate finance, capital markets and Islamic finance. - Bernama
